    Tiredmommy,
That sounds like a good read. Let us now how it turns out!
    Kelly,
I have not heard of the series, sounds good though!
    DiamondRing,
I have not read anything by Joel Osteen......have you ever read his writings before?
I have seen him a couple of times on tv though.

I'm done with the OCD book and just reading the Phillip Yancey book now......
it is something I think allot of Christians deal with, where is God when we are hurting.....
the first story he tells is a rough one. A friend of his, newly married gets cancer...... while she is in the hospital well meaning Christians come to see her, each with there own view point of her situation and suffering and advice on how to deal with it, she ends up very confused and hurt.....thats as far as I've gotten....

I have read all of Joel Osteen's books and Bible Devotionals as well as his wife's book. I and my husband are partners with them in ministry connected through the Feed The Children ministry we first became involved in through our home based church, The Worship Center. We fully stand supportive of Him and all ministers who dare to preach the True Gospel of prosperity in all areas of life through the Covenant Blessing of God at work in all who are saved by Grace through repentance of sin and receiving Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord.

    Thanks for sharing DiamondRing.

The Philip Yancey book is very good.....
He is talking about pain is actually a gift, by looking at some individuals who can not feel pain, literally. I never saw pain as a gift, but when you look at the other side of it, I guess it really is.....

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. I just finished reading "Fireproof." I've seen the movie but you know that books are often more detailed. Now I'm reading "Any Minute" by Joyce Meyer and Deborah Bedford.

I read this book, Any Minute a few months ago and I loved it! It really helped inspire me to give more to those homeless in my very own community.

You know, the movie follows the book pretty well, but there's an entire history the movie omits, as well as they get much deeper into both their personalities.

That is why I love reading.....it goes so much deeper! I like movies too, but reading somehow just takes the story so much deeper and personal.

It was different years ago when movies were made longer and they would take the time to add detail and get you really to know the characters better before diving into the main storyline. Those were the days movies were at least 3 hours long with an intermission in between for a bathroom and get a snack break.

I just finished reading "Any Minute" by Joyce Meyer this morning! I thought it was really good. It made me evaluate my ambitions, dreams and how I treat my family. It also made me dig deep to see if there was anything I was holding on to that I needed to let go. I thought it "sounded" like Joyce, too - does that make sense?

So this area has been quiet for sometime figured I check back in and see what people are reading.
I am on the 7th book in the 8 book series of the Aurora Teagarden mysteries written by Charlaine Harris, this is the same series I had talked about in this thread, the one I started after the Historian. I am thinking that after I finish the series I will probably try to read either the newest Alex Cross novel in James Patterson's series or go to the Stephanie Plum Novels by Janet Evanovich.

I am currently reading Eating Well When Your Expecting by Heidi Murkoff with Sharon Mazel.

Romans 5:17-18 (New King James Version)

17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
