Hello ladies. Haven't been on here for many years. My daughter is now 15 and my son is 28. My name is Retha, I am married now for 5 years. My son, Matthew, is married. My daughter Marleigh is learning to drive. My husband, Marleigh, and myself live with and care for my elderly parents so they don't have to go to a nursing home. I can't wait to get to know everyone and hoping to reconnect with some old friends. Overwhelming feeling of peace came over me when I saw the email asking me to rejoin. Perfect timing. Gods timing is always perfect .

Hello Everyone,🙏 I thought we could take a look at people with non-corona virus health concerns. There are people with these non-corona virus health concerns, so if you are reading this topic and don't want to go to a doctor's office, Urgent Care, ER, or a hospital find out, what area some options? Call your doctor office, speak to nurse, or call medical insurance company. What ever the case may be have it near you. I want to pray for you because some people are at a lost for what to do, some are waiting for the opening of the city, state or USA. Father we pray for people who are experiencing problems with their health, and are in fear of going to the resources that was available to them. Father keep them in your care, give them the Holy Spirit to guide them in what they must do. Father help to remain calm, and get information necessary to act on, and get their situation addressed. Father we pray this prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Mother’s Day is coming up. Now is a good time to talk about our Mothers Anyone want to tell us about their mother? What does it feel like to be a mother? Who has been a mother to you? etc

I agree with ABC - you can say you are excited to share with everyone your family's celebration of their marriage. Be short and to the point, but it's a chance to remind your daughter and son in law of how much you love them! If you feel there is someone out there who will be sad they weren't there, you can briefly say/explain it was a small ceremony with just some family members and you wanted to share pictures. Don't be afraid to share how much love you have for them and that you are a proud Mom! You could say the balloon and ultrasound are in celebration of a "special gift" coming soon, who you know will be loved by so many! I'm not sure if you have other grandchildren yet or not - but I can say it is wonderful, and I hope and pray the same for you!

Instead, myself and ChristianMom will be playing our trumpets off the back deck for our neighbors to hear this morning! Hope to bring a little Easter to our neighbors this morning! (hope we don't wake them up....) Everyone stay safe & keep praying for others that are struggling -

Hello, I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant and I'm looking for advice on childbirth. My due date is August 4, so I still have quite a bit of time to prepare but I really want to take the time to do it right and be fully ready for the big day. It's my first pregnancy. I really want a natural birth, no epidural would be ideal and (like a lot of women I'm sure) I'm worried about the pain, but more specifically no being able to bear the pain for long hours if my labor isn't quick. I know I will need more strength than I naturally have and I hope God will provide me with it. I was wondering if any Christian mom here had any advice on how to prepare for the birth, how to pray about it, how to build strength with the help of the Lord and so on. I was thinking maybe making a playlist of worship songs that I could listen to while in labor, or pick out specific verses that me and my husband could pray about beforehand and during labor too. Thank you for your answers, I pray that all of you are safe during those difficult times. God bless you!

Hi Sunshyne, I'm Rachel! First time mom to a 6 month old girl and been married for almost two years now. I have always battled with my anxiety. I struggle to push myself to meet new people and let myself be know. It's hard. I'm getting better in small ways...but I don't think I'll ever be a social butterfly. With the pandemic and a 6 month year old...I'm not going anywhere either. You've definitely been through a lot these past few years. I hope we can find some love and support here. I think it's what we're all looking for. Thinking of you, Rachel

My response is that you should honor her, and honor God with the way you dress and act. Not follow the crowd just to be "cool" or "relavent". Die to yourself and die to your flesh.

I relatively quite new here, but there is something I have noticed when I read through the forums here. I know there are already other posts here that discuss whether spanking is good or not, but my question is different and is aimed towards those who do spank. So please don't turn this into a discussion about that Many times I have heard moms referring to "a spanking" here and there, but when you read between the lines, I find out that 'spanking' consitutes for quite different things in different peoples houses. For some, it means a small swat on the hiney, and vice versa for some it means going over a lap and using an implement to swat kids bottoms. I want to ask this question: what does "a spanking" in your house constitute? In my house, first and foremost 'a spanking' means 'bare bottom.' I will pick them up , pull down pants and put her over my knee. I spank around 3 or 4 times 'not very hard', only with my bare palm (not a spoon etc). After I spank, we will hug and make up, of course. Can you define what a spanking constitutes with your kids, if you do spank? (do you take down pants, put them over your lap or whatever...) I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Father God thank You for what You are doing to heal, deliver, and set free the people who are bound, and are captive. Father God thank You for opening eyes to see, and ears to hear what we must do to be one people in Christ Jesus. Father God thank You for a better future that only You can give, and bring through the working of Your hands, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

I know everyone has their own opinion but to you, what bible version is easiest for you to understand while reading? I have the NIV, which I only use when I am at church because that is the main version they use. I also have the NLT (New Living Translation) which I have found to be a little easier to understand but I am hoping to find a translation to that is even easier to understand. Is there one?

Father God thank You for the healing that you will do in this land. Father God we thank You for peace in this land Father God we worship You for being the God of this land. Father God we humble before You and pray for the love that You have given unto us, YourWord says, KJV Version 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. (2 Chronicles 7:13-17 [KJV]) NIV Version 13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. (2 Chronicles 7:13-17 [NIV]) Father God we pray this prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

To All, I want to thank God, for my Mom. My Mom has been the best for me, my sibling, and a wife to my Dad. She was perfect, and beautiful in my site. My mom was a working mom, and my Dad had his own business in the garage. Even though she was out of the home, she took great care in our upbringing. Both parents were Christians, Mom was Baptist, and my Dad was Church of God in Christ. However, they did not attend church on a regular basis. Because they had the job of working to feed, cloths, and educate the eight children. I know God was in the plan because I was the evangelist of the house, and the neighborhood. I was second from the youngest in my family, and I attended church with the ones (siblings and neighbors ) who wanted to go to church with me. My Mom would get us most the things we needed, and wanted. My Dad would pay the bills. My Mom always worked behind the seen negotiating for us with my Dad. She would take us to Disneyland, parks and the regular school stuff and we would love to go to the parades. They would manage to save money for family vacations in the summer to visit with relatives, 1700 miles from our home. I will always remember these two things that charted my life. I went away to college and my mom cried and when I came home she cried, probably because I was the only child the attended a university, away from home. I was her little best friend and she missed me so much. After college, things were not working as I had plan for my life, it seems that everything was going wrong. My mom said to me, “you have tried running, biking, jobs, and friends, and it is not working out, so why don’t you just try Jesus?” It dawned on me that I had not been going to church after college. I took up her words. I been running for Jesus a long time, and I am not tired yet. Life with our Lord Christ Jesus has been a blessing and I thank God for my mom reminding me of that simple fact, to stay with the Lord, for He provides the blessings. I now remind her that she gave me back the breath of life, and now living in it with Jesus, because of her very words. It is interesting that Moms know the right words to say when things are going wrong. For that I am grateful. Mom is 90 years old, and I am grateful, and loving that God has blessed her with long life. Dad died at age 72, as a family we, have a great Mom, and had a great Dad, who vowed to protect us until he die, and he did. We as a family had a great family life, lacking nothing.

My Mom was a wonderful woman with a strong faith and I miss her terribly. She passed away 5 years ago, yesterday. It was hard to lose her right before Mother's Day! She died peacefully, and I trust she is with my Dad in heaven and many relatives who've gone before. (Part of me is thankful she's not here to suffer through this pandemic). Every day I still think I want to tell her some random thing. That seems to never go away. She had a wonderful way of showing care and concern for everyone she met and had a wonderful sense of humor. So did my Dad, and I remember a lot of love and laughter anytime we were together, just the 3 of us, or with our family. I hope to instill many of the things she taught me into my children and grandchildren. Her hope for all of her children and grandchildren was that they experience the love of Jesus. I've loved nothing more than being a wife and a mother. It was my greatest hope and dream. More than any career or job. Parenting isn't always easy, but I realize with each generation, we hope are own kids are wiser than we were and learn from their mistakes and ours (and hopefully they will make less of them!) Happy Mother's Day to all our Moms out there! You are blessed! Some quotes from my Mom: Laughter IS the best medicine! Things will look brighter in the morning Listen to the music of the falling rain Do it right the first time, you won't have to do it again. Don't be a quitter, follow through and finish]. Do what you say you are going to do

Christianmom, Thank you for being here. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. It is all God by the Holy Spirit that give me words. I do try not to be selfish. God has given me so much to be thankful for. There were many who prayed for me. I just want to give back to God's people, others who are seeking Him, and those who don't know Him. Showing myself friendly as He has ask us to do in His word. 😀 “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” (Prov 18:24 [KJV]). Context 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Hi everyone: My 28 year old daughter was married last month in a small intimate family wedding. She is pregnant and due in June. My daughter and her new husband have been dating for several years but still was shocked (and please don't judge) and disappointed when they shared the news of their pregnancy before marriage. Anyways the wedding happened, it was beautiful and on to the next phase of their life with a new baby. I want to post photos of the wedding on social media because so many friends want to see etc... plus my daughter posted and I know she's waiting for me to repost on my sight. I can't come up with the words to say ... I want to post some wedding pics (and one that shows them with a pink balloon and ultrasound) and don't know what to write. Any suggestions for this old-fashioned mom that needs a little help??

A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5 13-16 [BSB]) the witnesses are these (Luke 14:34-35; Philippians 2:12-18) We are so bless by the Word of God. It is a light to life. Amen 🙂

Hi Lillie! Congratulations! I'm thankful for ABC's response to you above^^ Your first child - such an exciting time! I'm mom to 3 and grandma to an almost 11 month old!) We Mom's are never forgetful of our own birth experiences! The first thing I thought of when you talked about a playlist of songs - so wonderful that you have that option! If that is what relaxes you then that is a must! Also - please forgive every one of us Moms out there who can't help ourselves and tell you all our stories, good and bad! I had an epidural with the first and it all went great and no pain, but I also didn't feel much at all. Waiting for it to wear off took some time, but I wasn't running around anywhere anyway, I was too busy learning how to nurse! 2nd child, epidural also, but they had changed it where it just took the "edge off" of the pain and so I could feel to push and I it wore off much sooner. I had planned and done classes for natural childbirth for both, and ended up both times with epidural. My sister had all 4 of hers with no epidural - I wanted to be like her! I had a neighbor who was a delivery room nurse for 31 years and she kept telling me "don't be a martyr, have the epidural" hahaha - all with a sweet spirit of course! Her advice was the Mom's just enjoyed the experience so much more. I have no regrets in my change of plans, and I know it's split about 50/50 among my Mom friends on what they ended up doing. So you do what you and your doctors think is best! I had many reasons I didn't want to have it and literally at the last minute changed my mind. It all depends on a million things - how fast you progress, etc. So I think the best advice is to prepare like you are to not going to have it, but be open to having it if you or doctors feel you need to. I'm not a doctor, of course, so just my opinion. Side note - it was my husband that had more issues with the epidurals than I did - he didn't like needles - he almost passed out! (shhhh, don't tell him I told you) haha! Epidural or not, practicing relaxation techniques was the most helpful thing to me, time in prayer and scriptures, prayers and encouragement from others, etc., and there is nothing more wonderful and miraculous than that moment when you hold your baby in your arms! Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Hello Lillie, Wonderful news, and to God be the glory. I went through a natural childbirth. It just so it happened to be before the pregnancy, that I would ride my bike to work (7 miles), and along the beach 25 miles one way, so about 50 miles. When I found out that I was pregnant, I stopped riding. So, I started going to aqua aerobics. But let me tell you I didn’t plan on a natural childbirth. Now this was my first, and only child. I was in labor for a few days and the last day, my daughter was coming so fast, that when my doctor arrived, he couldn’t get his suit off fast enough. So, he told me not to push, until he changes. When he returned. He could see her head. I pushed the first time to learn what to do, and the second time she was out. It was too late for an epidural. I am so grateful; it happened that way. This was my first and only child. I knew that I might not have another child, because of my age. You know everyone’s experiences are different. But, I didn’t find it much painful. It was painful but not as some drums it up to be. My daughter was born on August 13. I also breast-feed her, and I bought a pump. I tried to make the best experience of having one child. She is now 22 years old and attending college. She is an artist. God has blessed me, and her with His perfect situation for our lives. So not planned, and not prepared, I look back, at riding my bike, and aqua aerobics, and have drawn a conclusion that, God, knew His plan for the birth for myself, and my daughter. He planned it all. Caution: It is good to hear the stories of others, but you have to adhere to the consultation of your doctor. Always stay in prayer with God, as you carry the greatest gift and miracle of giving birth and being bless with a child. Second to the gift and miracle of God’s son Jesus to the world, that we have life and the forgiveness of sin. Father God, I pray for Lillie, the father, and their soon to be child that she takes this time to seek You in her life for the plan that You have for this birth. Father bless her with the happiness that she has not felt before, because she lives for You. Give her wisdom, and knowledge to do your will as being a Christian mom, and a loving mother to her child. As these days pass allow her to read your word, and impart your Spirit into the life of the child that she holds inside. We pray this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. abc

It the last day but just know this, and it is written in the word of God, and we are heirs to His thrown (Romans 8:17 [NIV]). Read this Psalm and you will find comfort and encouragement. Psalm 91 NIV 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. a 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 "Because he b loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” During this time I have to continue to remind myself of the truth in God's word. For it will bring you peace.

For they are our natural wisdom, and knowledge of each family, we love them. Father God we pray for our government leaders, and other government leaders who need your wisdom and knowledge in this fight. Father God when we stand with you, we are standing on Holy Ground. Father God send forth the Holy Spirit to heal, comfort, guide, and empower to do your will in this battle. We pray this prayer in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen Please feel free to continue in prayer for this situation.

Father God, we give you praise, glory, and honor. Father God, we thank you for loving us and protecting us. Father God, help us, we cry out to you for the forgiveness of sins. Father God, we cry out for your grace, and mercy to be changed to live for you, and to be the light in a dark world. Father God, we pray for this nation, and nations abroad. Father God, we pray for our natural, and spiritual leaders to have wisdom, knowledge to make the right decisions, and let it be godly decisions, concerning the people, and their lives. Father God, thank you for being the source of all of our problems. Father God, we pray for people who are sick, people who don't know you, people who are lost, people who have family members who have died, and people who are suffering spiritually, financially, physically, emotionally, and with careers, and education. Father God, we pray for your people who are weak in the faith, and for those who are strong. That you will cover them with your strength, and the Holy Spirit, that gives power to do your will in their life, and to support in the lives of others. Father God, we give you glory, honor and praise for all you are doing and going to do, to draw souls back to you. We ask that you raise them up to be a nation of believers. We pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen. Is there anyone who will stand in agree with me? Please feel free to continue in prayer for this situation.

I found this prayer on you version:https://blog.youversion.com/2020/03/a-prayer-for-connection/ Dear God, Being alone is hard. We were created for community, not confinement. But we’re grateful that no matter how alone we may feel, You never leave or forsake us. And, we’re grateful for technology that helps us stay in touch with each other. Today, please remind us that this time of social distancing and isolation will not last forever. Give us the strength to endure this difficult season, and deepen our connection with You and Your people. Empower us with an extra dose of Your love, peace, hope and joy, because we need it. Remind us of Your promises, and please heal our land.

Father God we lift up our nation, and other nations to you. Father God we know that you are our Healer and Savior of all. Father God we need peace, where there is no peace. Father God we need wisdom where we can't seem to find it. Father God we need your leading, your calm, and your love. Father God we need your strength, and trust. Father God draw the lost and the hurting to you, and in their lives, that you be glorified in this situation. Father God we give you glory, honor and praise for what you are doing and going to do. Father God we pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

I glad to know that. I too was helped when my daughter was young. She is now 22. This site so helped me. I hope that it helped others as well. It is my hope that some of us can reconnect to share, during this time of the crisis in the world. It is good to be saved, and know that we are under God's government, in his kingdom (Jesus Christ is in us, the hope of glory.)

Only for serious offenses. Normal offenses are dealt with by time outs and loss of fun. For real crimes- ie, stealing, vandalizing, bullying other kids, being cruel to others on purpose, and so on, the rule is-one lick for every year of age, bare bottom, lying on the tummy, willow switch or wiffle ball bat. Depending on the level on contrition and repentence, there will be grounding or a second spanking after the bottom is healed completely from the first. I do not consider this abuse, because my stepfather would whip me with a whip.

I have two daughters Lauren 14 years old,and Sharon 10 years old. I do, give out spanking's to both girl's. For Lauren breaking curfew will result in her being spank-bare bottom- with my open hand. For Sharon being sassy, not cleaning her room, not completing her homework,... ect. Will result in her being spank-bare bottom-with my open hand. Lauren:I have used a ping-pong paddle on her bare bottom for lying.
