  1. Please don't stress out over this. I have 3 kids and each one trained differently. Both of my boys were 3 and trained in about 6 weeks. My daughter wanted to after she turned 2, but just before 3 finally got completely out of diapers and pull-ups. It's been my experience with my kids and my daycare kids that when they are ready, it will happen quickly. If they truly aren't ready, it can be a real struggle.
  2. I don't know if this will help for not. But my experience comes from being the extra girl in the picture. Please do NOT think I am implying anything about your husband with this. My best friend moved her boyfriend into our apartment without my permission. Shortly after he moved in she went to visit her mom for 2 weeks, leaving me with her boyfriend. (You have to also remember that we were in our early 20's) It only took 2 days for him to make his move. She would never believe anything I said about what happened. My point is that your husband may be trustworthy, but I would not trust her. I don't think it is a good idea to open yourself and your marriage up to this risk. My mom always told us to abstain from all appearances of evil. All it takes is something that can be taken out of context to test your marriage. I think you have to ask yourself if the extra income is worth the risk with adding her to your house. She might be the nicest girl in the world with the purest motives, but Satan can introduce temptation in a heartbeat. Just my thoughts. I will keep you in my prayers.
  3. Wow, how incredibly sad for this precious family. My 13 yr old son has many of SCC songs on his MP3. Lord, we just lift this family up to you, bring them peace in this time of sadness. Lord, for her brother that was driving, comfort him Lord. Let him feel your arms wrapped around him. Lord help this family to draw closer to each other and to you. Lord, I also pray that you will protect this family from the negative media that could come from this situation. This family does so much to promote you and family values, help them to keep their focus and not lose sight of their wonderful ministry.
  4. I agree with what you are saying and I know Bill did not intend this to be a hellfire and damnation message, but rather sharing the love of Jesus in a very public setting. Not preaching, but rather sharing your experience and your faith in a public way. We are all called to be disciples of Christ, but we have to remember to follow Christ's example. I ran across a blog the other day where the lady was very open and honest about her relationship with Jesus and how he has helped her life being a wife and mother. I was so impressed! Even on the internet sometimes I am leary of being so open. I am making a committment to God and myself to be more sharing and open this year, through people I meet and the messages I post on my blog. There have been sooooo many times that I have felt God telling me to say something to someone and because of fear of rejection, I keep silent. That is something that I am trying to change and am in prayer over how to keep this committment. I love reading everyone's thoughts on this sight.
  5. Yes and No, he meant to have a site or blog of your own and have it open to search engines or see if you can link it somehow to other sites. Like with MySpace, have your own page, but have it open so that it can be listed on the main site when you post new messages so anyone can see them. Talk about issues, such as homosexuality, so that if someone does a search on that subject, your messages will come up in the search. Does that make sense?
  6. I've had the same experience. After my husband I got married, he wanted us to go to his church. Since it was closer than mine, I agreed to try it. Several weeks after I started going there, I felt this warmth and peace fill my body and I started crying. I had never felt more comforted by God before. What's been so awesome about this is that it has happened many more times since then. Praise God for being so ever present in our lives. I pray that you continue to feel his presense in your life.
  7. I would love to know your thoughts on this subject. A couple from our church have been missionaries to countries all over the world for many, many years. They spend most of their time in the Hawiian Islands, and then come home to Minnesota during the summer and do outreach in the states. Bill talked about the importance for us as Christians to infiltrate the internet, such as Youtube, MySpace and Blogging sites, with Godly messages and link them to sites that are not appropriate. He says that for those of us that are on the internet, there is a great need for outreach. What do you think?
