  1. You will be totally blessed. The best Bible study I ever do is preparing to share with someone or group. We get deep in the WORD and it is awesome! Remember Jesus first miracle? Yes at the wedding feast - there is a short line there that I have always remembered when John I think wrote it and said that the guests at the party did not know (about Jesus miracle) "but the servants knew." BUT THE SERVANTS KNEW! The servants were the ones who saw and felt Jesus first miracle!!!! Those behind the scenes serving. The guest knwe nothing about it.
  2. This is a wonderful thread. We always feel compelled to SAY something to others about our life in Christ. Many times we really need to befriend people and it all comes out by them seeing us loving and caring and here is another one RESPECTING others (esp our husbands). This it totally foreign to the world. My Father went to Nascar last weekend his first time. He told me something that really was unusual that happened. He said before the race started they asked a local pastor to come up and pray for the drivers and the visitors etc. He prayed openly, then closed iN JESUS NAME. Well many of you in the Bible Belt have heard public displays like this, but my father born and raised in CA has never heard JESUS NAME mentioned in public. Think about that for a while. At our little church here our Wed night group had a discussion and the older folks told us how EVERYONE knowsd about JESUS in this country. No they don't. In the west and in big cities noone shares their faith - they use the ol' it's a personal thing, excuse. (BTW Iused that when I was not walking with the Lord!) So befriending the unsaved will lead them to the Lord quicker than us pushing them in His direction. I truly truly believe this. They will be curious and WANT TO KNOW why you are different. YOU ARE DIFFERENT. We often think we are not as we sin, get angry with our kids, do things that are not that kind. But we are still different the way we deal with these things. People notice it. Yes churches are filled with unsaved people who desire to be around good people and desire a form of godliness - this is the same thing I am saying above. They want to know what the "secret" is and you have it. Isn't that exciting? Pray for those you meet that the Lord will be able to give you the time to be friends with them, to build a relationship. Jesus was into relationships - that was a big part of his ministry, it was not just to die and raise again -- he touched people's lives. ALL THE BEST!
  3. Thank you everyone. I have listened and prayed about it. This is what the Lord has instilled in my heart: There are many TWEENS at our church still attending little kid classes. These girls are all developing and have hormones surging... I found a book "A young woman after God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth Elliott. You can do group studies. It is all about godliness and living for the Lord - for a young ladies perspective. I have asked the Pastor about possibly do this study with the TWEEN girls at church on WED nights. I listened to ya'll and agree that the TRAINING PART is what needs to be the focus, I cannot be with her 24/7. I need to trust the Lord and continue to teach her God's plan for her life. THANKS~~~
  4. Purplegirl - this is the thing, JESUS IS REAL. HIS LOVE IS REAL. These testimonies to His power in grace in our lives are what people need to see and hear. Most people know there is a Bible with these ten commandments and a man who died on a cross and apparently was ressurrected. But most people do not know what GOD HAS DONE FOR ME and FOR YOU! It is so important that people we meet see The Lord in our lives...He makes New lives from Old. What HE does no other "religion" can do. People can try to clean up their lives and act like someone else. But it never changes that inward man... As a Christian you KNOW when someone has excepted the Lord - you can see it and feel it in their lives. It is not that they now attend church. It is not that they stopped drinking. It is that they are a NEW CREATION in CHRIST! Thank you for sharing. There is someone out there in your old lifestyle who needs to read what you wrote...
  5. I just started reading "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian. She talks about issues in her marriage that left her on her bed with her Bible in her hand and kids with bags ready to roll. It is a fascinating book and talks about how these little things become barriers in our relationships. She says that sometimes the last thing you want to do is PRAY FOR HIM. What about me? Basically once you are willing to pray for your husband, the Lord will honor that and make incredible changes in your life...not overnight necessarily, but they will change. All that to say - we get busy and THAT is the last thing we want to know about, being intimate. Then when we are not being treated as number 1 in HIS life, that is the last thing we want to do, be intimate. If you have not read this book you might be interested in it. To pray for your husband to succeed, be admired, be the husband HE should be will naturally bring that out for you, I believe.
  6. Just had some folks here who renewed their wedding vows for their 15th anniversary. He did NOT see her until she came down the aisle after 8 months apart. He has been stationed in Iraq. Also, they were in the process of adopting when he left and since then he has become the father of a little boy who he did not see until today as well. They have 2 other small children - this Mom has been without her husband for over 8 months, adoption have finalized and plenty of other stuff. All that to say - I KNOW GOD WILL GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. The kids will miss their Dad so much and visa versa - and it will draw you all that much closer! Whatever happens...HE knows and has it all under control. You are in good hands.
  7. Thank you so much everyone. I agree with all three of you and admit it is harder to say than do as it is also a control thing. We do want her to do the right thing, and not have mistakes to clean up. We want her to be holy and pure but realize she sins as we all do. We want her to be loved and not seek out being loved by anyone who gives her attention. We all know those who have done that and live to regret it. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS ESPECIALLY!!!!! I COVET THEM.
  8. Well Ladies, here I am with this troubling issue. My daughter 12 has been holding hands with a boy at school. It may seem trivial to anyone reading this, but to us it is a big deal as she is easily lead. This boy called and THANK GOODNESS for my CORDED phone as I was finishing up some stuff on my pc she stood here on the corded line as I heard this boy who acted like an ANGRY BOYFRIEND tell her he heard she liked someone else! She is not on line, not on the phone, none of that. And will not be either! Anyway, I discussed it with her. We talked about how it was inappropriate and God said he loves us and wants us to be pure and one day marry someone very special. I said alot of other things too, about this being wrong and how she KNOWS it is wrong behavior. Talking with Dh, actually BREAKING IT TO DH without him flipping out, we discussed how to deal with this without her being MORE intriqued by it and doing it more and going further with it. I asked her what else she has done, have you kissed this boy? etc. Apparently not, but possibly lying going on here. Anyway, I couldn't even sleep last night, as she goes to Middle School next year I am so upset. I REMEMBER what some girls did at 13 when I was her age...these days it has to be ten times worse. I threatened to take her out and homeschool again...which is impossible with her learning issues - but threatened it. Any words you have are appreciated!!!
  9. Sometimes I get so irritated when people post things like this. Some people MUST work. My sister, recently divorced, had a lazy no good alcohol/drug abuser husband and if SHE didn't work they would not eat. And even so, not very much! You cannot tell me people who work do not love their children as much as those who are SAHM's that is ignorant to the umpteenth degree. You do not know eveyr persons situation. The WORDLY viewpoint is that women need to work to feel good about themselves. Now if you had stated it in this manner, then I would agree with you 100% of the time. SOme women are married to men who do not Love Jesus and think the worldly way...so do they OBEY THEIR HUSBANDS and GET A JOB or disobey them and stay at home according to the scripture? I am saying all this without accusing someone of not being "worthy" of having children. Sorry, but you got my goat! We adopted as we desired children and could not have them. People who love their kids COUNT. People who do not and abuse and neglect them...well that is another post.
  10. I agree and the voting options were limited. Nothing is that cut n dry. Obviousely EVERY MOM should be at home with their kids as much as is POSSIBLE. Full time or not. I also believe every Dad should spend as much time at home as well!
  11. Thank You For Sharing!!! I ordered the white jaquard in CA King. No Shipping, no tax a barhain indeed!

"Who will separate us from the love of Christ?" --Romans 8:35 I received a card and on the front it said "My Love Letter to God." Inside it starts out Dear God, ... And you fill it in. This is a great thing to do on our own and also with our kids. God is real, His love is real, what more important LOVE is there? We have difficulty expressing ourselves so this is a great opportunity to put in writing how you feel about your Lord. I might make up a few of these to give to our girls and also at church. I want to see God's Valentine basket filled up! He wants to hear us say I LOVE YOU just as much as our kids and spouse!
  13. That is the thing - Our enemy satan would never make sin appear to be TOTALLY wrong to people. Just like drugs, if it didn't make people "feel good" for a while they wouldn't do it. I will pray for you Lauren amd your friend. When we are not in fellowship, all of a sudden everything seems okay, no matter how against God it is and sinful. Who are we to judge, right? WRONG. God tells us NOT to have fellowship with darkness.
  14. MOMS LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! YOU STILL HAVE A VOICE! Because of your efforts, NBC cancels 'Book of Daniel' Dear TSSR, NBC's anti-Christian program The Book of Daniel has been cancelled! Your efforts, combined with those of hundreds of thousands of other AFA Online supporters, had an impact. NBC's decision to pull The Book of Daniel shows the power of the pocketbook. NBC didn't want to eat their economic losses. Had NBC not had to eat millions of dollars each time it aired, NBC would have kept The Book of Daniel on the air. Because of your efforts, the sponsors dropped the program. NBC then decided it didn't want to continue the fight. Even an impassioned plea by Daniel's producer Jack Kenny could not match your participation. "Ordinarily, I would never ask anyone to do this, but the AFA and bullies like them are hard at work to try and prevent you from seeing these beautiful shows, and that is censorship—pure and simple. And that is both un-Christian and un-American," Kenny wrote. His attitude is typical in today’s society. Non-Christians telling Christians what is Christian. People like Kenny don't want people like you to have a voice. They want to deny you the right to get involved. You are supposed to sit back and take the trash. And when you do speak up they call you names. This shows us that we don't have to simply sit back and take the trash, but we can get involved and fight back with our pocketbooks. I want to thank the 678,394 individuals who sent emails to NB C and the thousands who called and emailed their local affiliates. Thanks for caring enough to get involved! 15. PS WE moved from the west coast to the east coast 2 years and it was the greatest thing we have done! The Lord has blessed up and changed our lives dramatically! It was a good thing for all of us. God promises to make good things happen in your life - just trust Him and make sure it is HIS WILL, if there are red flags popping up then we weary. But the Lord knows...
