  1. Anyone else see on the news this morning about the young man who confessed to killing his pregnant girlfriend after seeing the movie The Passion? I guess he said his guilt was too much to bear and he wanted to repent so he turned himself in. They had both sets of parents on. What I found ironic was the girl's parents were standing in front of a fireplace with a cross hanging on the wall behind them, and they seem quite unforgiving. I admit that if I was in that situation I'm sure I'd have a hard time with forgiveness. But from an outsider point of view, I see this man as trying to make things right, owning up to his crime knowing what his punishment will be. The girl's dad said he wants the man in jail for life, not that he's against the death penalty but see's it as the easy way out. Part of me was thinking I guess they haven't seen The Passion.
  2. LOL It wouldn't surprise me if it comes to that some day.
  3. verse The verse your probably thinking of that says something to the effect of Jesus going down to hell for 3 days till the resurection is 1 Peter 3:18-20 "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom[1] also he went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, ". Here's a good short webpage that talks about that verse: http://www.gotquestions.org/where-was-Jesus.html As for the baby thing, and I also didn't get the 2 Marys mopping up Jesus' blood with the rags scene. I tend to think "time fillers" lol. Lori
  4. money Doesn't that 2 Timothy so fit these day and age? The other message you hear so much these days is the 'prosperity' message. I was so glad to hear my pastor explain that he doesn't believe that is Truth. He said the bible applies to everyone in the whole world, and that properity message being given in America certainly does not fit many other places in the world. "Make a faith pledge and you'll be blessed, that new car will come to you" won't apply in Nicaraugua. Now, I'm not disputing giving, tithing, etc. but I think some of these bigger churches that are seen on TBN (since that's the only Christian channel I get) have twisted the bible to fit their desires.
