Toddler Feeding Tips

Recommended Posts

I'm inspired by Amber's household tips, and I realize we have a whole "Hints from Mom" section, so I'm posting here & I have to read the other ones. There's a whole great section here I never paid much attention to!

My Toddler Food Tips:

1) One thing I've noticed is that sometimes you just have to try different ways to prepare the same food...

For example, if my daughter didn't eat fresh green beans, I'd try frozen, then canned (No Salt Added), etc. She'll eat fresh peaches, but not canned, etc. - the flavor & texture seem to make a big difference.

2) Sometimes cutting a food up into a different shape works, depending on the food & the child's eating ability.

Sometimes we will not put a new food on my son's tray but will put a little extra on our own plate. When he sees us eating it he's more likely to ask for it and then actually try it, whereas if it's on his own tray he'll tend to turn up his nose simply because it's new.
